ORIGINS

MANCINI FARM

The Azienda Agricola Val di Lago derives from the Azienda Agricola Mancini, where wine has been produced for three generations. In the early 1960s, Rocco Mancini planted the first hectares of vines and began producing wine by selecting grapes in a way that was as natural as possible. In the 1980s, management of the company passed into the hands of his son Filomeno, who continues with constant and meticulous work to pass on his father's traditions.

VAL DI LAGO FARM

In 1998, Marco Mancini took over the family inheritance, selecting vines and clones according to the type of soil  on the various farm plots. Marco combines tradition, passion and innovation, following a production philosophy that originates from farming knowledge. The vineyards are located in Val di Lago, from which the company takes its name, in the heart of Tuscany between the Chianti Aretino and Valdarno hills. The special microclimate and the ideal conformation of the soil allow us to produce excellent grapes, harvested only when perfectly ripe and carefully selected for our wines. The winery is located in an old farmhouse in the old centre of Levanella, in the municipality of Montevarchi, a town in the Upper Valdarno.
